Community Program Collaborations

The Brancati Center has partnered with MERIT Health Leadership Academy, an intensive academic and mentorship program for under-represented high school students interested in pursuing careers in the health care field, to establish the MERIT Brancati Fellowship. In 2019, five Baltimore City high school students were placed in year-long internships focused on public health.
As a complement to the Brancati Fellowship Program, we also support the new MERIT Community Health Internship, an intensive 5-week summer program focused on community health. In 2019, two students worked with the Brancati Center on initiatives focused on food insecurity. They spent time at two community-based organizations, Moveable Feast and Greenmount West Community Center, where they learned about the impact of food insecurity on the health of families and communities.
